If you haven’t heard of Malente before, it’s about time to school yourself! Malente is Christoph Göttsch from Germany. He’s had releases on labels you’re probably really familiar with, including Dim Mak (Aoki’s label), Southern Fried (Fatboy Slim’s label), and SFC friends Fools Gold (A-Trak and Nick Catchdubs label) in the last couple years. Yep, he’s pretty big time

We were lucky enough to have Malente’s agent knocking on our door. Apparently the rage/ravefest that TAKEOVR has become is spreading towards the inner circles of the DJ world, which can only mean more amazing djs for our future!

Of all the countries represented at Epcot Center, the Kingdom of Morocco clearly got the short end of the stick. It seems that despite having more than 12 centuries worth of history the best imagineers could come up with is a meet and greet with Aladdin, who’s tale takes place in Iraq. A true travesty for the land that is home to Casablanca. If you don’t already know who the B-Side Artists are, you must be new in town. Comprised of several members of Orlando’s underground art community including Swamburger, the lead MC of Solillaquists of Sound, the The B-Side Artists took their moniker from the golden days of the music industry. In pre-Internet times before mp3′s were passed around like a flask at grad night, a b-side was the primary way music that was perceived to be “less than conventional” was brought to the masses.
These guys can be found doing their thing almost every night. Whether it’s out on the streets or in a nightclub, they’re out there. Opening Reception for the B-Side Artists 3rd Annual Art Show is June 17 from 6pm – 9pm. It will showcase new works form Swamburger, G. Lemus, Tobar, Tr3 and many others.

Dirty Hairy, as of late, has been pulling in some of the biggest names in dance music to the Miami nightlife circuit. They’ve pulled in Diplo, Crookers, Steve Aoki amongst others and joining their ranks in this weeks’ installment is Swedish dance house duo Dada Life..

These two are a goofy energetic duo who pump out solid heavy hitting dance tracks. And yes, I’ll be the first to admit that while drink prices are LIV aren’t the most recession friendly, there is a certain unmatched experience to be had in that huge cavernous club that cannot be matched by smaller venues. It’s the price we pay to live in sunny Miami, so come ready, and come early because parking can be a bitch.

Entertainment at Friday Ferox ranges from sword swallowing to burlesque shows. Come get wet at our special Afrojack Takeovr on June 8th, 2010 as the Summer of Takeovr continues!

The Orlando International Fringe Festival, now in its 19th year is the longest running festival of its kind in the entire USA. The nature of the shows range from family oriented to completely uncensored. 100% of the admission fees go to the artist involved with the festival. During the course of this festival’s nearly two decade long history it has received many accolades. Recently it was the recipient of the 2009 United Arts A+ Excellence Award for Community Engagement and was voted the Best Culture Event in Orlando by the Orlando Sentinel.

Attending the festival can be rather complicated due to an overly convoluted color-coded button system the festival uses for admission. In order to attend a show one must first purchase a colored Fringe button for $8. Each of the different venues is given a color. For example if someone wanted to watch a show that is in the Yellow Venue they would need a yellow button plus a ticket for that particular show. If you feel that’s too much of a hassle there are free shows outside. All show listings can be found on the Fringe website listed below. btw things tend to get a little weird here. There will be plenty of beer and wine on site to amplify that.

TBL-TXT “table-text” is a new product from Creative Solutions Inc that is hitting the restaurant market this Spring. It is an innovative new way to order via text messages. The method allows for immediate communication between staff and customers.

We’ve all been there, hoping that at some point the waiter will bring by the check, so that: a bad date can end, you catch a movie on time, or just leave the establishment in a timely manner. With the TBL-TXT software the staff is just a text message away. It helps servers and bartenders manage their customers more efficiently. Zeb Long, the Lead Engineer says, “TBL-TXT was designed to make life a little bit easier for restaurant owners and customers alike.”

The mobile ordering market is expanding rapidly, but most of the products available come in the form of Apps designed for specific corporate brands. TBL-TXT is a mobile ordering system that utilizes the universal text messaging system, so that the ordering method can be same at all venues worldwide. It doesn’t use any proprietary hardware to operate the ordering system. TBL-TXT works with all phones that have the SMS function. The order management software is designed to work on touch and mobile systems.

Creative Solutions Inc expects the first TBL-TXT location to go live in March/April 2010.

After graduating from Leeds University with a degree in musical performance, Rusko entered and overtook the world of dubstep with no signs of letting up. Growing up in a musical home, Rusko is a Brit with a firm understanding of rhythm. He is a lover and pioneer of dubstep and is set to play day two of Ultra. We just got confirmation that Dark Matter, which was set to take place this Saturday at Sky 60 has been postponed for a few weeks due to weather.

Yes, I know, it’s a beautiful day outside today, but everyone in Florida knows that what happens today is not necessarily what will happen in three days. So, since our good friends at the weather channel have been kind enough to let us know that its supposed to rain before this weekend and be hella cold again after, Pauly Crush and friends figured that they would rather not subject you to a rooftop party on a cold, wet night.

Queso, who is also performing at the event, will be updating the facebook page with the new date soon, so keep your eyes on that to get the latest as soon it becomes available.
