To Most of us here at SFC, Franki Chan is pretty much a household name. We’ve taken his pictures and danced to his music, we’ve gone as far as two drive to hours just to see him that second night in a row. If electronic music was like gang wars, then Mr. Chan would be head of one of the most notorious houses. Founder and main artist on IHEARTCOMIX records, Franki has been at the foreground of the electronic music scene since, oh, sometime around 2003 or thereabouts. His label is responsible for the ingenious electronic talents of The Toxic Avenger, Totally Michael, Heartsrevolution and Matt and Kim to name a few, needless to say, the man has good taste.
It’s no surprise then, that Franki himself, produces tracks that have both the rhythmical capacity to make you dance like crazy for hours on end, but the production prowess to mix contrasting sounds and genres so effortlessly that is becomes art.
Franki will be performing at the Forum in North Carolina TONIGHT (April 30th) and you should really make it a point to go out there and check it out if its within range for you. Any IHEARTCOMIX performance always promises to be a good show and Franki is by no means an exception to that rule. He is a master of his craft, consider it a FAIL should you be able to go, but don’t.
